Gunther Read is a bi-national Luxembourgish/American student who is currently based inthe US but will represent luxembourg and the FLSA at the Rotterdam U23 Championship.

Podium pour Jean-Benoît Valschaerts à Amsterdam, ce dimanche 5 juin 2016
Jean-Benoît a confirmé de belle manière son entrée dans le Top 10 mondial réalisé lors de la Coupe du Monde de Lucerne la semaine dernière, pour monter sur le podium de la prestigieuse régate 'Hollandbeker' à Amsterdam, le dimanche 05 juin 2016.
Après des qualifications réussies le samedi 04 Juin, Jean-Benoît se classe 3ème de la finale du dimanche, derrière les deux favoris, le champion du monde en titre Ondrej Synek et le champion Olympique en titre Mahé Drysdale. Avec un temps de 7'13,43", il finit à 10 secondes seulement du vainqueur Néo-Zélandais.
Le rameur représentant la Fédération Luxembourgeoise des Sociétés d'Aviron espère à présent confirmer pour pouvoir continuer à se préparer avec comme objectif les Jeux Olympiques de Tokyo 2020.
After joining the World Top Ten in Luzerne last week, Jean-Benoît has reinforced his position by finishing 3rd place in the well recognised "Hollandbeker" regatta in Amsterdam on Sunday, 5 June, 2016. After winning the heats on Saturday, Jean-Benoît competed in the final and finished 3rd after the World Champion Ondrej Synek and the Olympic champion Mahé Drysdale. With a 7'13,43", he finished only 10 seconds behind the winner. Jean-Benoît, as a representative of the Luxembourg Rowing Federation, looks to focus on training that would lead to his representing the country of Luxembourg in the Olympics 2020 in Tokyo.

The last WE of May 2016
Jean-Benoît Valschaerts, representing the FLSA at the second round of the World Championship in Luzerne, Switzerland, performed a fantastic 9th place int he general placing.
"I feel I'm getting closer to the world top rank" said Jean-Benoît, member of the Luxembourg International Rowing Club. Thanks to Jean-Benoît's contribution as a rising star in the world of rowing champions, as well as to the recently created Luxembourg Rowing Federation, the Olympic Sport of rowing is progessing in Luxembourg these last years. Next step for Jean-Benoît, is in Amsterdam (NL), beginning of June.
